Tristan Chay won the Swift Student Challenge in 2023 and graduated from Swift Accelerator Programme in 2023. After graduating, he has returned to help out with the programme as a mentor and subsequently became the Assistant Instructor, guiding his juniors through the full process of ideating and developing an app that solves a real-world problem.
In 2023, Tristan was named one of five winners from Singapore in Apple’s WWDC23 Swift Student Challenge, part of the 375 global winners that year. Tristan's experience with app development extends beyond just mentoring. He helped to develop CICU Genie, a mobile app designed for the Children's Intensive Care Unit at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. The app helps streamline access to critical medical resources, supporting healthcare professionals in high-pressure situations.

Taught Swift and SwiftUI to close to 50 students as an iOS Taskforce member, helping manage lesson curriculum and recording video lessons.
Outside of app development, Tristan is also actively involved in the Swift student community in Singapore. He regularly returns to help out with the Swift Student Collective community events and Swift for Everyone.

Co-organised with Jia Chen at the Apple Developer Center Singapore, bringing together over 100 students for hands-on workshops on machine learning with Swift. Featured interactive sessions, app demos, and networking opportunities for aspiring developers.

Regularly participates in organising and running community events that bring together students passionate about Swift and iOS development. These events include workshops, mentorship sessions, and networking meetups that help students connect, learn, and grow together.

Actively contributes to this initiative, helping to make Swift programming accessible to a broader audience through community-driven learning sessions and support.
Guides students through ideation, development, and launch of iOS applications, emphasising practical product thinking. Previously served as Alumni Mentor from May 2024 to November 2024.
